The rehabilitation standards acknowledge the need to alter or add to a historic building to meet continuing or new uses while retaining the building’s historic character.

This project repurposed a firehouse station that was sold for a dollar during the Chicago’s Large Lot program where the initiative was to renovate a building by investing locally and revitalize the neighborhoods.
